It has just started with February, the year 2009. One nevertheless tends is to look back at the past, of what has happened, and just happens on this, in our world.

The world for example

The apple-tool “OSX Planet” visualizes after the installation and corresponding presettings, as a screensaver at your desk, a map of the world, . The application, developed by a 19-year old, can show you volcanic eruptions,  also shows day and night-times, or clouds at your personal location. Almost photorealistic and an apt proof of the beauty of the world. The windows user has the graphically rational programme “earth view” left. osxplanet.com or earthVIEW

24 Hours Simulation

What really happened to us last year, or yesterday, or a month ago? Comes to it what seemed to be important to each of us. Not enough, the simply reminding to that isnt that easyily at all either. Basically everyone has to recall the past, every single day, every hour,  minutes and seconds to weighten up what really touched us. The “24″ simulation of Christian Etter helps you, to see and visualize, how much time per day is available actually. blackcoffee.org/milk/ ( in the menu “play” 24 )

Many a little makes a mickle.

The proof for, in term of “small cattle also makes dung” this one buzzes of quite many small time-units a great one yields, is the sand-glass. One has the possibility here, of letting sand trickle and then storing the pictures in a gallery online. thisissand.com

Incredible Machine

In 1987 Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss built an enormous, precarious structure 100 feet long out of common items. Using fire, water, gravity, and chemistry they create a mind-blowing chain reaction of physical and chemical interactions and precisely crafted chaos. The legendary “Incredible Machine” can be viewed on youtube.Glorious, inspired and demented.

Way Things go

The remarkable chaining of physical and chemical processes and reactions in this run ” When things work” could almost be seen as a scientific proof for the law of the universe. Everything depends on each other, without the movement the one can the different one not move further. Years after that run “When things work”  the idea became adapted for a commercial, for this exceptionally although smartly and newly, hosted on youtube.

The Power of Ten

Another milestone of the visualization of connections and infinity was “The Power of ten”. A zoom-journey from the most remote galaxy up to the smallest cell and once again hosted on youtube.

A little big and timeless

Asking the austro-new yorker Stefan Sagmeister what he still wants to reach this year during a lecture last year in Innsbruck he has answered something into “a little big, globally effective and timeless, as the Simpsons!” Just as specific as brilliant is SouthPark. All this is nothing new but again and again however worth mentioning. The very best is, that you can see every single episode online, any time you want in the finest quality. wtso.net or allsp.com

I just became aware that if you search youtube for most of the new movies that are out in theaters you can watch them in parts? What is the deal with that? Shouldn’t that be totally illegal?
For instance, I just watched the new Simpson movie on it, in 9 parts, the whole thing, it definitely had japanese subtitles, but other than that, it was decent quality does Google not pull this stuff down anymore?
