Since watching the first trailer of Portal, especially the official trailer, i hardly cant described what i thought or felt, it was an bombardement of amusement my little eyes got to see and wow, i was impressed!
I’ve already played through HL1 and HL2 numerous times and Episode 1 twice, the games are still installed on my shuttle – and since i installed my new gpu ( XTX1950 ) nothing can stop me from playing. Like others i only torture my pc, i dont own a XBOX360 or a PS3 to play. In fact, I could hardly wait to get my hands on it! And when I was finally holding The Orange Box in my hands, I knew exactly what I was going to be playing first. I simply had to experience this new Portal.
Inside The Orange Box you will find the complete Half-Life 2 experience, Episode 1 and 2 and the long awaited Team Fortress 2. And it was well worth the wait over a year.
The perfect review comes from Matt Brett

The complete review of Matt is extremely detailed and bulky written, im not able to do this better. There are no questions left, really nice – a review how it should be. He writes about the start of the game, with learning the usage of the portals and the Portal gun with the and the fun it makes how to play trough the test chambers. Matt hit it right when he wrote about thecompleting of each test chamber – it really gives you a sense of accomplishment and makes you more than willing to put the time in and figure things out for myself.
Matt described his impressions of the game in this sentence and hits the point and surprised me, because this is/was exactly what i felt during playing.
Portal has something i didn´t expect from this game, the pure charm it carries. While playing this game there were numerous times i found myself laughing out loud and even responding to what was being said in the game. Which is hella weird – I don’t think I’ve ever communicated back to a game before.
The cake is a lie

The end came so fast. In less then 2 hours i played it through and that made me very sad – i expected more fun of it, more hours of gaming. But Valve made me happy, this game rocks.
Upon completing Portal, a whole slew of additional game modes are unlocked for added replay value. Advanced mode is what you would expect – a harder version of the test chambers made difficult by fewer objects and increased hazards. The first time I attempted an Advanced chamber, I was fully stumped. But with my second attempt I was successful.
When i started with Portal i choose the advanced mode and so i learned to play this game the hard way. But its certainly easier to play on pc with a mouse and the keyboard – especially the aiming of the portals. For those who know the Unreal Tournament series, one of the weapons, the ShockRifle – allows you to shoot balls with the second fire mode. But you can give your enemys more damage with destroying the ball, therefore you hit this ball with the primary fire mode and explode it. Or the little games in Ubisoft´s Raving Rabbids, the cow-throwing or the funny toilet shoot-out. Im quite sure its possible but easier on a pc, teach me im wrong.
This was a triumph

This was a triumph, the song in the end of the game made this feeling perfect. The really sexy semi-robotic computer-voice made me crazy, since the first time i heard that i fell in love. Whenever i hear this song on my pc i kiss my tft. This song is a triumph. I’m making a note here: Huge Success! It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction! (Plus, it’s simply cute and funny).
You can grab a copy of this song right here, or if you like enjoy the credit movie right via youtube.
And again im totally with Matt – No matter what you’re playing right now, I would recommend pushing it aside and picking up The Orange Box and launch Portal.
Portal is by far the best game I’ve played this year. It may be the best game I’ve played in the last few years followed by the Ravin´Rabbids.
