tomlovesyou has been picked up and got featured by a number of web design gallery sites recently in the last few months. It’s been exciting and flattering to watch my site spread from one gallery to the next. I was so proud to get featured on those pages because i never believed my design and style would be good enough for them, but i was wrong.
Each of those lots of gallery and showcase pages out there show the designs and pages created and coded with web standards. This community honors those designers who aren’t afraid to think outside-the-box, and who are reinventing their ideas of what great web design can, and of course should be.
About
tomlovesyou was created to present the latest techniques in visual presentation, user experience, and site coding to the web design community in a simple and effective manner i hope. I´m still in a learning process so my style will get better and so my coding skills of course too, its always a learning process during the life. The tomlovesyou project is on what i actually wanted: the asskicking design.
No frills it is a labor of love!
Sure i was afraid about the colours and the layout but you liked it and proofed its good to mess with the world.
Benefits
Getting featured on the gallery´s over the last years gave my site and reputation a huge boost, and pushed me always on my limits of knowledge and usability. CSSMania, CSSstar and CSSArtillery for example, makes it possible to share your work, ideas, design or art-work with the world. Another benefit is the free promotion it gives you when your listed and perhaps this will be your start in a new life, a new job or great and interesting offers for works.
To get featured is everytime a honour to me, really, but i think i deserved it like John would say and to get feaured on those pages is still unbelievable.
What i think and maybe i´m very wrong with it is, its not that easy to get featured and only a handful suggested sites get accepted into the gallery´s. That’s because those gallery´s accepts only the best designs. And mine is good enough to mess with the rest!
The future
Looking at the stats the site has popped up across the world including the States, UK, Sweden and Italy. It event got a mention in Japan, but I don’t know if what they said was good or bad!
I received a lot of emails and nice feedback, but also very interesting offers for freelancing works in austria and the netherlands. But what i like the most is the network every gallery is. Everyone sees and knows whats possible in creating design, usability, artwork and CSS and i´m sure not only me is visiting the showcases for inspiration- all of those sites have a great display of designs to point you in the right direction
I hope you can enjoy this little place on web as much as I have enjoyed growing it.
The very nice and beautiful CSSArtillery made my last month perfect. The tly-design has been selected and featured again on a frontpage. CSSArtillery is a very new web design gallery i think, that showcases CSS based web designs from all over the world. It’s a site that I will check regularly for inspiration and to see what design trends are popular, and being featured on a site I admire so much feels like a huge achievement.
But when i visited my profile the first time i couldn´t believe what i saw. This design of the artillery is so stunning, so minimal and dark, crazy, i kissed my flatscreen because i fell in love. This is exactly what i await eagerly, a design that kicks your shoes off. Dudes and Dudettes form the artillery, i have to thank you for your design and featured entry on your page.
After visiting your page i don´t like mine anymore…
Be sure you get my highest rating on all other showcases your design is listed. I´m very proud and impressed to be part of this ubersuper gallery. And my plans to rule the world are for now delayed, yarr.
LinkCreme is a gallery with beautiful css and flash sites updated on a daily base. I´m featured on this site and its wonderful to see my page grow. With this entry it was possible for me to get in touch with two very nice persons and new offers to work. So i have to thank you for promoting my page and design.
As all other gallerys showcases LinkCreme the best designs only i´m sure that LC is getting to be one of the best website of ranks in the world.
With using wordpress as engine and the quilm, on of the most succesfully themes out there, there are many wordpress powered blogs listed. To see other designers work with the probably best blogging software out there is great. Thats why i love welovewp and looppress.
This project was born in the 2006 with many other inspiration and gallery css sites that exist on the web and i´m very ashamed to write now that i´ve never heard of this page before. But LC has something interesting and unique, its not only the passion for wordpress.
I still feel somewhat excited when I see tomlovesyou being showcased and recognized at other sites.
I can´t believe what happens in this year so far, the design is selected and officially listed on the gallery heavyweight and my absolute favourite, CSSmania.
This is my daily inspiration, motivation and i believe this is the most famous and biggest CSS showcase gallery in the world. Well since good things come in three’s, i´m really proud to be featured again.
I guess one bad thing did happen though, apparently on CSSmania they spelled my last name Nussbaumm, instead of Nussbaum, but I think I will live.
You normally have to submit your site for selection/approval. I never have, because I figured there’s no way tomlovesyou is nearly good enough to be featured in the gallery. This was totally unsolicited, so yarr!
For those of you who haven’t heard of CSSmania, it is an online showcase of well designed Web sites with standards compliant code. Quite a few people like tomlovesyou for the articles that are featured on the site, but it feels good to be recognised for the design and code aspect of it as well.

My latest design has been featured today on welovewp-gallery. It’s been a while since I have stopped watching such CSS galleries on a daily basis but I was very pleased to find out that one of my designs is featured on welovewp!
This my third design that has been featured in any of the CSS galleries and as you understand it is very important to me. Hopefully more will follow!
