While browsing the web, remembering what my students told me yesterday in class - we had a great discussion about robots generally robotics, the influence of scifi, the technic and programming, our lifes and the progress we are actually part of. For me as teacher it was very impressive how my class dealed with this topic, how they look forward and see their own future in 5 years, the possibilities of robots and their own ideas and plans. It was very honest one of my best days.
The SciFi is so near
And so i made a research about programming and the usage of robotic technics - now and in future. I was searching for tags like "raytheon"- the great denfece contructor of the US, and "Sarco" and their Supersuit. Sarco has been working for the military on real-life exoskeletons for years. My students told me that it looks and seems like terminator got his birth in army, warriors in perhaps a near future could look like Halo´s masterhchief, but - with all those options in the movie and the possibilties with this probably new "warmachine", i think walldodges are possible too!
What would i do with such a boost of strenght, getting your own superhero, kick some presidents ass…?
Researches Worldwide
For the healthcare system it would be again a great innovative idea, students on universities worldwide can do their medical and scientific researches and some concept work. Hospital could use this machine for example for the increasing amount of overweight/morbidly obese patients that have strokes, probably this would be a lifesaver for our backs. But thats only one of billion ideas and possible ways to use a robot that way. But to see your grandma in a powersuit playing with their grandkids again?
What i think
This has anime coolness, construction work could be revolutionized, just think about the tons of applications in domestic fields. Just because it is designed as a weapon does not mean it is all bad.
You can start a discussion with the pro´s and contras of such a "machine" but first, enjoy the movie
I hope this doesn´t run on windows software.
